Ladies vs Kettering (0-6)

It was a tough loss for the ladies who travelled away to play Kettering. The final score was 6-0 to a very strong opposition.

Our team put in a lot of effort but the games unfortunately did not go our way. Although the match was difficult, the ladies showed great attitude and were very committed to putting in a good performance.

Well done team – on to the next one!

Men’s A vs Kettering B (7-2)

The reverse fixture of the first match saw a stronger Kettering team playing at home but thankfully we took probably the strongest team we could including two debuts from Kyle and Chris coming up from the Juniors via the B team.

Kettering started strong with an experienced pair winning the first game against Kyle and Mikee, but that was their first competitive encounter and they went on to win their other two. An excellent performance from the experienced pair of Matt and Rob saw them winning all three of their games and with Harry and Chris also winning two of three we ran out 7-2 winners.

The man of the match had to be Chris who played brilliantly with Harry and was buzzing on the car journey home.

Men’s A: vs Kettering B (6-3)

The opening match for the Men’s A team this season saw a home match against Kettering. A solid performance from Neil and Mikee playing as first pair picking up wins in all 3 of their games helped the team to a 6-3 victory overall. A good start to the season, Let’s keep this up and carry the momentum into the next.

Men’s B vs Duston SC

Our men’s B team lost their match this week, 9-0 to Duston. As always the whole team did their best and gave a good performance against a very good team.

The match was a great learning experience, especially for the juniors who have stepped up into the team and we are excited for the return fixture later on in the season.

First mixed match of the season!

Our first mixed match of the season having been promoted to Division 1 highlighted the tough but exciting season ahead of us as we lost 9-0 to a very good Kettering side…

The team put in a great effort and gave the opposition some good games on the night. In particular, praise goes to Matt and Anna who played fantastically.

Onwards and upwards we go!

Men’s B vs Apollo

After a hard fought match between our Men’s B and Apollo, the home team Apollo managed to take the win. The final score was 8-1, and our Men’s B worked hard to take a number of the matches to 3 ends, a fantastic improvement from last season.

The whole team put in a great effort with a few of the members making their debut in the team and showing some great commitment and determination throughout.

Keep it up team!

Doubles Match: vs Pyghtle

This the first match of the season turned out to be quite the start. Every game was a well fought contest and after the level doubles both teams were tied 3-3 meaning it was all down to the mixed portion of the match. After the first 2 mixed games the teams still could not be separated, with the score now at 4-4 it all came down to the final match. Yet another set of close games ensued but Russel and Sheila were able to forge through and emerge the victors meaning Mereway win the first match of the season 5-4.

Well done to the team. A good start to the season and hopefully there will be more wins to come.
